Oracle Consulting has a broad portfolio of services to support our customers in the adoption of Cloud Solutions. The EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Strategy & Business Development (SBD) team drives the overall Consulting GTM strategy and defines the framework/templates for all OC offerings.
The EMEA IAAS Lead architect/SME is a Subject Matter Expert in Cloud Infrastructures with particular experience around
design and implementation of Cloud technology solutions including network, security and hybrid architectures
migrations of workloads from on premises or cloud competitors
cloud native application design and implementation leveraging on innovative Oracle cloud services and emerging standards such as DevOps
He/she is also a thought leader, credible and trusted in front of customers and sales, bringing field experiences in leading complex propositions the area of Cloud infrastructure.
The EMEA IaaS Lead Architect/SME is responsible for delivering leadership & support for large, critical or lighthouse deals as well as helping establish & deliver Oracle Consulting thought leadership for customers’ adoption of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
Should have an extensive background in Cloud and ideally including skills about competitive platforms
Will work closely with Cloud Platform Sales, Pre-Sales, Enterprise Architects, Customer Success Managers and other Services Line Of Business.
Will be part of Oracle’s EMEA Consulting organization covering all of the EMEA countries and working closely with regional / country Consulting leaders.
All the work undertaken must be focused on creating value for our customers whilst increasing Consulting booking
Will need to be confident and capable of presenting and discussing Consulting solutions and services both on a 1:1 basis and at larger Customers, Partners or Sales events.
Will help investigate, champion and develop new service offerings
Will be a champion for Oracle cloud internally and externally
The role offers a high degree of personal autonomy and requires excellent self organization and self motivation skills. You should also be prepared to travel.
- Help drive consulting services “go-to-market” strategy for Tech Cloud at EMEA level with a specific focus on IaaS business.
o Provide thought leadership about technology solutions based on Cloud Infrastructure architectures including hybrid cloud solutions
o Design & Architect cloud solutions based on Oracle Cloud services (e.g. network, security, compute capacity, storage, platform services, …) to fulfil customer business needs and Oracle Cloud strategy
o Position and deliver a portfolio of services to helping customers to design & implement their cloud infrastructure as well as migrate their workloads from on-premise data centres or competitive cloud platforms to Oracle Cloud.
o Nurture, develop and drive new service offerings and best practices
o Champion Oracle Cloud internally and externally
- Works closely with:
o EMEA License Sales leaders and Business Development specialists to align Consulting GoToMarket for Tech Cloud as well as to keep consistency with all Cloud solutions and businesses.
o Virtual team of Consulting local and offshore Cloud Leads and specialised Consulting Sales Reps in all EMEA countries
o License Sales Reps, Consulting Sales Rep, Marketing and Oracle Direct to understand the market and to come up with the right Consulting Value Propositions.
o Other EMEA Consulting Cloud Solution Business Development Directors to promote position and sell multi-pillar Consulting capabilities and services
o With Consulting Sales Reps, directly support the very largest opportunities through the sales-cycle, including possible customer interaction.
o With Oracle sales & pre-sales teams to aid implementation considerations in deal engagements
Understands the competitive landscape and is able to position Oracle Consulting services against services from competitors.
Consulting main point of contact for the Product Development and Product Management teams
Actively develops cooperation model(s) for selected partners and drives execution / engagement
Supports delivery org (local & offshore) in doing the appropriate capability and capacity development and delivery enablement.
Represents Oracle Consulting in external communications and marketing events.
Networks within Oracle to ensure Consulting services are positioned within other product / business lines, events and activity.
A strong background in and extensive knowledge of Infrastructure design & architecture, IaaS, database, application and workload and data centre migrations is key.
A high level of commercial and business acumen gained through direct experience, previous Professional Services Business Development experience is preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to present confidently in front of 100 people as equally as with 1 person
An understanding of the competitive Services landscape is a benefit
The ability to network extensively internally and externally to Oracle in order to create long-term valued business relationships
A good level of spoken and written English skills, more languages is a preferred
International sales or business development experience, preferably in professional services.
YoY bookings growth for Consulting services for IaaS (EMEA level)
Personal impact on closing “lighthouse” deals for OC in IaaS
Recognition internally and externally as Thought Leader in IaaS.
As a member of the consulting organization, candidates will also be responsible for ensuring that a quality, integrated software solution is delivered in a timely manner, at budget, and to our client’s satisfaction. This involves working closely with the client to understand and manage their expectations, as well as working closely with Oracle and third-party vendors to ensure delivery.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences or Business or equivalent preferred. Balance of advanced technical skills, functional knowledge, client consultative skills and operational management experience. Has 4 years of consulting services senior management experience with P&L responsibility and 10-15 years consulting or industry experience.
Willing to travel regionally with some national/international travel.

Leads the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated solutions within constraints of time and budget.

Recommends and justifies enhancements to Oracle products to meet very complex customer needs. Exercises creativity and independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to deliver functional and technical expertise on a wide range of business and technology solutions. Leads experienced consulting teams on challenging projects; works on significant and unique issues. As a thought leader and trusted advisor, effectively influences difficult decisions at the leadership-level of customer organizations. Enables business development efforts by providing subject matter expertise. Resolves very complex customer escalations. Drives customer process direction and decisions by providing domain leadership within relevant industries on end-to-end enterprise solutions. Creates new solution sets based on assessment of industry needs, market demands and knowledge of competitive product offerings.
10 years of experience relevant to this position including 5 years of consulting experience. Management or team leadership experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to lead large teams. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to travel as needed.
